                  Floyd E. Miller, 87, Oblong, Illinois went to be with the Lord at 5:30 A.M. Sunday June 28, 2009 at his residence. Born July 28, 1920 in Crawford County, Illinois Floyd was the son of Alva & Rosa (Cruse) Miller. On July 28, 1943 he married Maxine Fritz and they had a wonderful marriage for over 65 years. Floyd was a Field Tech. for Marathon Oil Company retiring in 1980. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a member of White Oak Church rural Oblong, IL. Floyd graduated with the Oblong High School Class of 1940; member of Oblong American Legion Post #219 and for many years was a member of the National Campers & Hikers Association. Floyd enjoyed camping, traveling and fixing anything.
                  
                  He is survived by his wife Maxine; son and daughter-in-law Alan & Debra Miller; daughter and son-in-law Paula & Anthony (Tony) Pavia; five grandchildren Athena Miller, Joni & Tyler Collums, Brittany Miller, Parker Pavia and Preston Pavia; two great-grandchildren Aubree and Mara Collums; brother and sister-in-law Raymond & Janet Miller; along with several nieces and nephews.
                  
                  Floyd is preceded in death by his father.
                  
        Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery.
