      					Bellair, Illinois passed away at 9:15 p.m. Sunday March 4, 2007 at
      					the Long Term Care Unit of Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson. Born
      					in Clark County, Illinois (near Moonshine) on January 30, 1910, she
      					was the daughter of Cam Dow Crandall and Nora (Bennett) Crandall.
      					She was a graduate from Martinsville High School in 1928, attended
      					the University of Illinois and Eastern Illinois University to receive
      					her teacher certification. Graduated from Indiana State University
      					with a Bachelor of Science & Masters Degree. She taught
      				in elementary schools in Clark and Crawford Counties retiring after
      				38 years in May, 1974. She was a member of the Bellair Church of Christ;
      				Life time member of the Crawford County Unit of the Illinois Retired
      				Teachers & the National Education Association; Charter member of
      				the Crawford County Homemakers Extension Association;
      				Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Women Educators; Daughters of American
      				Revolution, James Halstead Sr. Chapter; she was active in the Bellair  On April 6, 1935, she married John W. Adkisson, who preceded her in death on June 22, 1998. Also preceding her in death was her parents, one sister, Emily Vale; one brother, Fred Crandall and one nephew, Larry Crandall. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda & Greg Parrott; three grandchildren, RoseEllen & Tom Osborne, Amber & Matt Kramme and Johnathan Allen Arlington Parrott; three great-grandsons, Aidan & Liam Osborne and Amos Kramme; one sister, Rose Penrod; two nieces, Joan Hills and Carolyn Ripley; two nephews, Earl Adkissson and Jerry Adkisson. Burial is in the Casey-Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, Illinois.  |
