		Fern L. Waldrop, 95, Oblong, Illinois died Tuesday February
	            				15, 2005 at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, Illinois.
						Fern was	born on November 12, 1909 in Landes, Illinois and was the daughter
	            				of William & Eva (Messenger) Kiplinger. After attending
	            				school in Landes, she attended Bridgeport High
	            				School. She graduated in 1929. Fern continued her eduation at
	            				(Normal Teaching College)
	            				Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois
	            				where she graduated from that University. On June 24,1933 she
	            				maried Burnis Waldrop
	            				and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1972.
	            				Fern had a very active life as an elementary teacher, a homemaker
	            				and co-owner
	            				of a grocery store. She was a member of Landes
	            				United Methodist Church and later years attended Central United
	            				Methodist Church,
	            				Oblong, Illinois. At an early age Fern dedicated
	            				her life to Christ and was very active in church work as long
	            				as her health
	            				permitted. Fern was also a member of the Retired
	            				Teachers Association, Oblong Grange and Crawford County Republican
	            				Women, she was
	            				very active in voting. Her hobbies included knitting,
	            				crocheting - in the winter of 2002 she crocheted large lily
	            				of the valley
	            				tablecloths for each of her grandchildren, quilting,
	            				she was an excellent tort maker, gardening, tutoring and spending
	            				time
	            				with her family.
	            
		Surviving Fern are two daughters and son-in-law Lois
	            				Ikemire & Paul Perkins and Marilyn & Jerry Smith; eight
	            				grandchildren David & Tami Ikemire, Diana & Mike Woodard,
	            				Cheryl Osborne, Carrie Osborne & David Fleek, Teri & John
	            				Campbell, James T. & Lynne Smith, Valinda Smith & Mike
	            				Plott and Wesley & Tricia Smith; sixteen great-grandchildren
	            				and several nieces and nephews with a special
	            				niece who was	a care giver: Imogene Lindsey.
	            
            		  Fern was preceded by her parents, husband, two sisters:
	            				Dale Fritz and Opal Camp and one son-in-law Charles Ikemire.
	            
            		  Burial will be in the Waggoner Cemetery, Landes, Crawford
	            				County, Illinois.
